Guitar Lessons

Bee Sharp Music Studio offers private guitar lessons for students of any age or skill level, whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or you've been playing for years and want to actually get better.

We're located in South Fayette and serve students from Pittsburgh, Bridgeville, Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, and Bethel Park.

Why guitar students get stuck

Most people start guitar with free YouTube tutorials, and a lot of them end up stuck playing the same three chords for months. Without any structure, it's easy to pick up habits that are a pain to unlearn later.

That's where lessons make the real difference. Whether you're brand new or you've been strumming for years but hit a wall, we'll help you fix the gaps, proper finger placement, solid rhythm, real strumming technique, and reading music well enough to play with confidence. Some students want acoustic ballads, others want electric riffs, either way, we build lessons around what you actually want to play.

What you'll learn

  • Posture and hand position

  • Basic chords and chord progressions

  • Strumming and rhythm technique

  • Reading music or chord charts

  • Playing melodies and full songs

  • Ear training

  • Musical expression and performance confidence

You can learn on acoustic or electric, whichever fits your goals, and we teach across pop, rock, classical, folk, and fingerstyle. As a beginner, we start with the fundamentals and build from there, no prior experience needed.

A real student story

A young boy sits on a rug in a living room playing an electric guitar.

One of our students spent months trying to teach herself guitar before starting lessons with us. She was close to giving up. A few weeks into structured lessons, she was playing full songs and performing for family. That kind of turnaround happens more often than you'd guess, most of it just comes down to having the right structure from the start.

Guitar Lessons for Kids & Adults

Kids learn through simple songs, fun exercises, and lessons built around rhythm, basic chords, and melody, all shaped to keep them motivated instead of frustrated. It's genuinely rewarding to watch a kid go from not knowing how to hold a guitar to playing their first real song.

It's never too late to start as an adult, either. Whether you want to finally learn the songs you've always loved, pick things back up after years away, or just have a creative outlet, lessons move at your pace and focus on the music you actually want to play.
