Saxophone Lessons
Thinking about learning saxophone? At Bee Sharp Music Studio, we teach students of every age and level, from complete beginners to players getting ready for auditions.
Lessons cover the fundamentals, posture, embouchure, breath control, fingerings, along with tone, articulation, and phrasing. As you progress, we bring in improvisation, sight-reading, and repertoire across classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary styles, whatever direction you want to take it.
What you'll learn
If you're just starting out: We focus on posture, basic technique, and note reading, using simple pieces that build coordination and a confident sense of pitch. Regular, structured practice keeps things moving without feeling overwhelming.
If you've got some experience: We work on scales, arpeggios, and sight-reading, while widening your repertoire to build musicality. Lessons also target common sticking points, like plateaus in tone or timing, and start incorporating performance prep.
If you're advancing toward auditions or competitions: Lessons get more focused, tone development, advanced technique, and interpretation, with mock performances built in so high-pressure settings feel familiar before they actually happen.
Kids, Teens & Adults
Younger students learn through games, short songs, and play-along activities that introduce breath control and simple rhythms without it feeling like homework. Teens get more structured lessons that still connect to music they actually want to play, working on tone, articulation, and sight-reading alongside school band and audition prep.
It's never too late to start as an adult, either. Whether you're picking up saxophone for the first time or coming back after years away, lessons are relaxed and built around whatever you want out of it, jazz standards, pop tunes, classical, or just playing for fun. When you're ready, there are also low-pressure group and ensemble opportunities to try things out with other musicians.
